Tathra Beach Bowling Club Meat Tray Raffle Update: Clarifying Supply Rumours

There is still a lot of rumour around the supply of meat trays for the club raffles.

I am hearing and reading, many members are of the opinion that the board and management decided to cease using the local Tathra Butchery.

This could not be further from the truth.

When the club decided to increase its meat tray quotas by 3 trays per raffle the board decided to have those additional 3 meat trays supplied by another lot of Butchers. This was to give the general members a more varied choice of meat trays.

2 butchers were selected to supply these additional trays.

Given the quality of the trays supplied by the first butcher, and the excellent feedback received from club members, it was decided by the board & management to remain with this Butcher supplying the 3 additional meat trays on the Tuesday and Friday raffles.

The local Tathra Butcher was still supplying 12 trays on Tuesday’s and 15 trays on Friday’s.

The local Tathra Butcher had a major portion of the meat raffle trays and there was never any plan, discussion, or intention by the board or management to change this.

On Monday, 22 September 2024 the club received written correspondence from the local Tathra Butchery that they would not be supplying the club with any further meat raffle trays effective, immediately. The club was asked by the local Tathra Butchery to settle its accounts immediately which the club did.

It was the decision of the local Tathra Butcher, to stop supplying meat trays to the club.

At no time did the board or management of the club decide not to patronise the local Tathra Butcher. In fact, the local Tathra Butcher, still had 83% of the quantity of meat trays supplied for the club raffles.

Apologies this communication has come late however, I hope this clears up any questions members may have.
